Xiaomi is expected to announce its upcoming Redmi smartphone that comes with a 48MP main camera. The Redmi series is Xiaomi’s popular affordable smartphone lineup and it appears that they are spinning it off as a separate sub-brand under Xiaomi.
Ahead of its launch on 10th January, a purported poster of the device has surfaced online which gives us a clearer view of the device.
From the image above, the new device which is speculated to be the Redmi 7 will come in 3 colourful options. It appears to have a shinny glossy back and it looks similar to the recently announced Mi Play.
On the display, it also gets a tiny notch at the top while the rear gets a dual-camera setup. As mentioned in the poster, it has a 48MP camera that has 4x the clarity. Perhaps, this could mean pixel binning where it fuses nearby pixels for better low light performance.
There are no concrete details on the specs yet but it was speculated that its bigger Redmi Note 7 Pro will run on a Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM. If this is true, this is a proper successor to the Redmi Note 5 as the current Redmi Note 6 Pro is still running on the same Snapdragon 636 processor as its predecessor.
