Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 and S10+ are expected to be announced next month ahead of MWC 2019. We’ve already seen a couple of leaked cases and now we have a clearer indication of the size thanks to a new video from leakster Ice Universe.
In the video, Ice Universe had two cases that are designed for the upcoming Galaxy S10+ which is expected to come with a larger 6.4″ display. For 2019, Samsung will be trimming the bezels further and the latest flagship models will come with a new Infinity-O display that comes with a punch-hole camera design.
The Galaxy S9+ which comes with a 6.2″ Infinity Display was able to fit perfectly into the S10+ case. This proves that Samsung Galaxy S10+ manages to offer a larger screen while maintaining a similar footprint as their current S9+.
He also tried to fit a Galaxy Note9 but it was too big, despite having a similar 6.4″ screen size. On top of that, the OPPO Find X with its 6.44″ display could also fit into the S10+ case as well.
From the video, we could also see cut out holes for the USB-C port as well as the 3.5mm port. While most flagships launched last year have killed the headphone jack, it is good to know that Samsung is still retaining this traditional port.
To recap on the sizes, the smaller Galaxy S10 is expected to come with a 6.1″ display which is slightly larger than the current S9’s 5.8″ size. The Korean smartphone maker is also expected to release an affordable S10 Lite variant that comes with a slightly smaller 5.8″ display.
The new Galaxy S10 series will also get an in-display fingerprint sensor and it is speculated to come with up to 1TB of storage. In terms of photography, the top of the line Samsung Galaxy S10+ is expected to feature at least 3 cameras but there’s a possibility of a quad-camera setup, similar to the Galaxy A9. As seen in the video, the Galaxy S10 series will feature a horizontal camera placement which is similar to the current Note series.
Since Malaysia is a key market for Samsung, we expect the Galaxy S10 to go on sale locally shortly after its global announcement.
