Huawei hints a higher-spec Mate 20 device is coming to Malaysia very soon

The Mate 20 Pro is currently the best Huawei flagship you can buy at the moment. It features a triple-camera setup with ultra-wide-angle lens and a large 4,200mAh battery. If the current 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model isn’t enough for you, Huawei Malaysia appears to be bringing a higher-spec variant for more demanding users.

The teaser email from Huawei had mentioned “something BIGGER is coming up this festive season with more reasons to celebrate. You know what they say “the bigger the better”.

We believe this isn’t the Porsche Design Mate 20 RS as the email had only attached a picture of its current Mate 20 lineup in Malaysia which include the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 X

From the looks of it, it seems that Huawei is introducing a new variant for either the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X that could come with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Both models are available in China and this could be a viable option for those who prefer more internal storage instead of slotting in a Huawei NM Card. A 128GB NM card is currently sold at RM298 in Malaysia.

In China, the Mate 20 Pro with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at 6,799CNY (about RM4,126) while the Mate 20 X with the same RAM and storage combination is listed at 5999CNY (about RM3,640).

Huawei is expected to reveal more details in the coming days and the device should go on sale in Malaysia before Christmas week. If you haven’t seen it yet, do check out our full review of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
