Telekom Malaysia has just announced the departure of Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob as the Chairman of TM Board with effect on 30 November 2018. He’s replaced by a new Chairman, Rosli Man, effective 3 December 2018.
The outgoing Chairman, Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, had served the role for almost 3 years after he replaced the former Chairman, Dato Sri Dr. Halim Shafie in 2015.
Rosli Man, has 32 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He was an Independent Non-Executive Director at TM before he resigned in 2008. Rosli started his telecommunications career with TM in 1976 as an Assistant Controller and he was involved in the implementation of the first mobile telecommunications service, ATUR 450.
Rosli was also instrumental in the setup of Malaysia’s first private telecommunications company, Celcom, in 1988 until he left the company as the President in 1996. He was also the Managing Director at Prismanet Sdn Bhd and the COO of Natrindo Telpon Selular, a GSM1800 operator in East Java, Indonesia.
