This is how Huawei is killing the notch

The notched display trend appears to be dying faster that we thought. After introducing smartphones with smaller notches for the front camera, Huawei is finally killing the notch with a new kind of display. It’s an all-screen phone that comes with a tiny cut out hole for the selfie camera.

If you’re wondering how it looks like in real life, the device was shown to live ahead of its official announcement.

In conjunction with Chinese singer, Jackson Yee‘s 18th birthday celebration, Huawei had given him a new smartphone as shown below. The device was in a case and you can see a front camera on the top left corner. The display stretches to the top edges of the phone, however, it still has a noticeable chin at the bottom.

Unfortunately, they didn’t show the back of the device. It is speculated that this new smartphone will be released in December.

Overall, it looks quite identical to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A8s that also as a hole for the selfie camera. According to serial leakster @OnLeaks, the Galaxy A8s will be using LCD panels from BOE which also provides displays to Huawei.
