It was recently reported that D-Link’s DIR-850L router as pictured above was found to have a new security vulnerability. It was discovered that hackers are able to access your WiFi network without the required credentials which can put your data at risk.
According to D-Link, this issue affects DIR-850L routers with hardware revision A. Routers with Hardware Revision B are not affected.
The DIR-850L is one of the several routers offered by TM for its Unifi broadband subscription. However, it isn’t affected by this vulnerability issue since they are using a different variant with Hardware Revision B1.
Below is TM’s statement on the router vulnerability issue:
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to inform that the DLink routers supplied to our customers are not effected by the authentication vulnerability. The routers supplied to our customers are from version b1, whilst the effected version is version a.
Rest assured that the security and privacy of our customers are of utmost importance to us and we will keep you posted should there be any need to update the security patches for the router.
