Lenovo has unveiled three new Yoga notebooks in Malaysia. One of it is the successor of the original Yoga Book which Lenovo claims to be the world’s thinnest dual-display notebook with e-ink. Instead of a Wacom-developed touch surface, the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 features an interesting secondary E Ink display which doubles up as a keyboard, a sketchpad or a reader.
Lenovo Yoga Book C930
On the main panel, it comes with a 10.8″ Quad HD IPS display that pushes a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. It supports multi-touch and you can use the stylus on it with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Instead of a typical keyboard, the bottom panel of the Yoga Book uses a flexible E Ink Mobius Display. It shares the same 10.8″ screen size and the black and white display pushes a lower 1920×1080 pixels resolution. Since it’s also used for sketching, it can also support 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity with the stylus.
In terms of hardware performance, the new Book is a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Instead of an Intel Atom processor, the Yoga Book C930 is now powered by either a Core i5-7Y54 or a Core m3-7Y30 unit. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM with SSD storage of up to 256GB. You can still expand storage via a microSD card up to 256GB.
Connectivity wise, you have two USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-C ports, a microSD slot and no headphone jack. There’s a 2MP camera for the video calls and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos enhancement. Also included is a fingerprint sensor.
Powering the Yoga Book C930 is a 4,650mAh battery which is rated to last up to 8 hours on a single charge. Out of the box, it runs on Windows 10 Home. Overall it’s only 9.9mm thick and it weighs 775g for the WiFi only version.
Unfortunately, Lenovo Malaysia has not revealed its pricing yet but in the US it’s going from US$1049.99 (about RM4,398). If you’re interested, the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 will be available in Malaysia by end of 2018.
