While the Pokemon Go hype might be long gone for most of us, a 70-year-old man has taken his passion for Pokemon hunting to an extreme.
About a few months ago, Taiwanese Fengshui master by the name of Chen San-Yuan went viral after a photograph of him playing Pokemon Go with 11 smartphones that were attached to his bicycle via a specially built rig was uploaded onto the internet. Due to the epic setup and his dedication towards catching Pokemon, Chen made international headlines.
Recently Chen ditched his bicycle and upgraded his rig completely. Now he has a full-body setup that allows him to attach 12 phones in his never-ending pursuit for more Pokemons. To keep the phones running, Chen carries a backpack full of power banks and charging cables. This allows him to keep all of his devices juiced up for more than 20 hours straight.
Known as Uncle Pokemon, Chen was introduced to the game by his grandson and he has been hooked ever since. He also explained that the game has helped him to socialize as well as to fend off Alzheimer’s disease.
When Pokemon Go was first introduced in July 2016, a record-breaking 130 million people downloaded the game. Today, the fad has certainly died down a bit but Pokemon Go still manages an impressive 5 million users a day and 65 million users a month.
