You can pre-order the OnePlus 6T in Malaysia next week

UPDATE: You can pre-order the OnePlus 6T in Malaysia starting 30 October 2018.

The OnePlus 6T is launching next Monday and if you’re thinking of getting a unit, it looks like it will be coming to Malaysia very soon. This is the latest flagship smartphone from OnePlus that offers a larger display with a smaller notch and it now comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

According to one of our sources, pre-orders for the OnePlus 6T will be available shortly after launch and this includes Malaysia. We are told that they will be a total of 3 variants and below are the colour options available:

OnePlus 6T 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (Mirror Black)
OnePlus 6T 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (Midnight Black and Mirror Black)
OnePlus 6T 8GB RAM + 256GB storage (Midnight Black)

Similar to the OnePlus 6, we expect DirectD to be one of the first to offer the device locally. They have posted a teaser online but it isn’t clear if this is an official Malaysian unit or a grey import set.

We don’t have info on its pricing but we are told that stocks are expected to be available in Malaysia around the second week of November, which is two weeks from now. As a reference, the current OnePlus 6 was officially priced from RM2,399 for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model and it goes all the way up to RM3,099 for the range-topping 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option.

According to serial leakster Roland Quandt, the OnePlus 6T will feature a 6.4″ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 845 processor. At the rear, it gets a dual 16MP + 20MP camera setup, while the front comes with a 16MP selfie camera that is housed in a waterdrop design notch. The device is said to come with a 3,700mAh battery which supports its own DASH fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, this is also the first OnePlus flagship to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack. It will run on the latest Android 9 Pie out of the box with its own OxygenOS skin on top.

UPDATE: Mi Han Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor for OnePlus smartphones have announced that pre-orders for the OnePlus 6T will be available from 30 October to 7 November 2018. The pre-order will be available exclusively on the official OnePlus Store on Lazada.
