ASUS Malaysia is launching the ROG Phone on 22 October

ASUS’s ultimate gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone is officially coming to Malaysia very soon. The local launch event is taking place on 22 October 2018 which is just two weeks from now.

For the Malaysian market, the ROG Phone will come with two storage options of 128GB and 512GB. The official price isn’t revealed yet but retailer DirectD has hinted that the base 128GB model will be priced under RM4,000. All units will come with the AeroActive Cooler, which is a fan attachment as pictured above that has a USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.

To recap on the specs, the ROG Phone features a 6.0″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that offers a fast 90Hz refresh rate with a 1ms pixel response time. Under the hood, it runs on a high performance 2.96GHz Snapdragon 845 processor that’s mated to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. It also gets dual front facing speakers with dual smart AMP, Hi-Res audio output and it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

For imaging, it gets a 12MP f/1.7 main camera and a secondary 8MP f/2.0 unit for wide-angle shots. In front, it comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Juicing up the ROG Phone is a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 and PD3.0 charging via USB-C. Speaking of USB-C ports, the ROG Phone gets an extra USB-C connector at the sides which makes it more practical to charge while gaming in landscape mode. For those who can’t wait, retailer Mobile2Go is offering an import unit with 512GB of storage for RM4,999.
