During IFA 2018, Sony has introduced the latest addition to the highly-accredited Sony 1000X family and it is called the WH-1000XM3. If you are a fan of these active noise canceling (ANC) headphones by Sony, you will happy to hear that the XM3 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia.
Starting from today, you can pre-order the flagship headphones at its retail price of RM1,599 on Sony Malaysia online store. As an added bonus, Sony Malaysia will be throwing in an SRS-XB21 Bluetooth speaker (worth RM429) with IP67 dust and water resistance for free. Pre-order will end on the 14th of October, and delivery will start on 16th October 2018.
To recap, the XM3 comes with a dedicated noise-canceling processor called the QN1, which allows the headphones to block out even more noise like voices and background sounds. It also comes with an analog amplifier and a 32-bit DAC build into the QN1 chip for better bass and resolution compared to its predecessor, the WH-1000XM2.
Battery life remains the same at 30 hours but the XM3 now charges via USB-C instead of micro USB. That being said, you are able to fast charge your XM3 and receive 5 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charge.
There are some features that are pretty much similar to the XM2. You are still able to access ambient mode by placing your hands over the right earcup, which allows you to hear your surroundings without taking off your headphones. It also has touch-sensitive controls for users to manage the volume as well as your music playback.
