Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy global launch event is taking place in Malaysia next month

Samsung is about to reveal its next Galaxy device next month and it’s making its global debut here in Malaysia. This is the first Samsung global launch event to take place locally and it’s possibly the biggest launch yet after the Galaxy S and Note series. As teased earlier, the upcoming device promises 4x the fun and it could bring more ways to express yourself than ever before.

From the official invite titled “A Galaxy event”, this could be a new Galaxy A series smartphone that’s focused on photography. It’s speculated that it could be a device that’s equipped with a total of 4 cameras.

The upcoming device could be the Galaxy A7 (2018) as shared by serial leakster Roland Quandt. Like any new Samsung device, it will feature an Infinity Display in front which is likely to utilise a Super AMOLED display.

What’s interesting is its main camera setup. Based on the leaked renders, it will come with a triple camera setup that are aligned vertically at the rear. Another interesting feature is its side-mounted fingerprint sensor which replaces its traditional power button. Below is a “leaked” hands-on photo of the Galaxy A7 (2018) for a better view.

Traditionally, Samsung launches its A series in pairs like the Galaxy A8 and A8+, and A6 and A6+. Usually, the + version has better specs which include a better camera setup. What we’re seeing here is the smaller A7 and perhaps the bigger A7+ might be the device that come with four cameras at the back.

At the moment, the most popular triple-camera setup is Huawei’s P20 Pro and it will be interesting to see what will Samsung offer with 3 or 4 main cameras. Will it be additional optical zoom, wide angle lens or a dedicated monochrome shooter? We’ll find out this coming 11 October 2018 at 5PM and the event will be streamed live from their website. Samsung Malaysia has also started its registration of interest for the upcoming event.

Since the global launch is taking place in Malaysia, we will be among the first in the world to get it officially. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
