If you’re looking for a different iPhone X-inspired Android smartphone, the Lenovo Z5 is now available in Malaysia via grey importer DirectD. The hardware looks similar to the mid-range ASUS ZenFone 5 and it even comes with a “Twilight” colour option.
The Lenovo Z5 features a 6.2″ IPS display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2246×1080 in a 19:9 display aspect ratio. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor that comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. In terms of storage, it has 64GB or 128GB capacity which can be expanded via microSD card.
Over at the rear, it gets a 16MP + 8MP dual-camera combo, while the front comes with an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a 3,300mAh battery which charges via USB-C. There’s a fingerprint sensor at the rear and it also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
DirectD is selling the 64GB variant at RM859 and it comes in Black, Indigo Blue and Aurora. If you need more storage, the 128GB version is going for RM1,059 and it’s only available in Aurora. Take note that these are imported sets and they are covered by DirectD’s 1-year in-house warranty. If you’re interested, you can check out DirectD’s Lenovo Z5 page.
As a comparison, the ASUS ZenFone 5 is currently selling for RM1,299. It also gets a 6.2″ Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 636 processor and a 3,300mAh battery. However, the official Malaysian set comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage and the rear comes with an 12MP + 8MP dual-camera combo. You can learn more in our previous ZenFone 5 post.
