Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro will have a bigger battery than the Galaxy Note9

Huawei Mate 10

While all eyes are expected to be on Samsung tonight as the South Korean company launches their highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note9, Huawei‘s got something to say about one of the Note9’s biggest new feature.

From what we’ve seen leaked so far, Samsung’s Galaxy Note9 is said to feature a large 4,000 mAh battery, which is a significant upgrade over the 3,300 mAh cell in the current Note8. Naturally, people got excited.

Then, we saw Huawei drop a hint for their upcoming flagship smartphone (likely called the Mate 20 Pro).

Judging from the diagram, it looks like Huawei has confirmed that the Mate 20 Pro will feature a battery that’s at least larger than 4,000 mAh, with some claiming that it could be as large as 4.200 mAh. By flagship smartphone standards, that’s pretty huge.

Huawei’s upcoming flagship device should launch sometime before the end of this year and rumour has it they will be calling it the Mate 20 (with a Mate 20 Pro) so that it’s in line with their P20 series. This new phone should also showcase the company’s 2018 flagship processor, the Kirin 980. Screen will also be updated, with the Mate 20 rumoured to have a 6.3-inch panel while the Mate 20 Pro packs a 6.9-inch OLED with an in-display fingerprint scanner instead.

Beyond that, details are still fairly scarce, but it appears that Huawei has at least confirmed that the Mate 20 Pro will feature a large battery. What do you guys think? Are you going to hold out for the Mate 20, or is your heart already set with the Note9? Let me know in the comments below.
