Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ features quad-speakers with Dolby Atmos

Apart from the Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung has also introduced the Galaxy Tab A for 2018. It also gets a 10.5″ display with four speakers but the hardware specs are much lower for mainstream multimedia usage.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ features a WUXGA TFT LCD display that pushes a respectable 1920×1200 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Instead of a flagship processor, the Tab A 10.5″ runs on a Snapdragon 450 unit with 3GB of RAM. Onboard it gets 32GB of storage which is expandable up to 400GB extra via microSD.

There are speakers built into each corner of the device and it has Dolby Atmos support for an immersive audio experience. Designed for family usage, it has multi-user mode which allows you to create separate accounts on the same device. Parents can also manage their children’s screen time using the Kids Mode.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ comes with an 8MP main camera and a front facing 5MP unit. In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11 ac WiFi and there’s also a 4G LTE version.

Powering the tablet is a large 7,300mAh battery which is similar to the Galaxy Tab S4. It also charges via USB-C. There are no battery life claims for the Tab A but the Galaxy Tab S4 is rated to last up to 16 hours of video playback.

Samsung is calling this a tablet with high-quality entertainment features at a budget-friendly price. At the moment, there are no pricing details yet and it isn’t clear when the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ will come to Malaysia.
