You can pre-order the honor play in Malaysia on 7 August

Honor’s gaming smartphone, the honor play, is coming to Malaysia very soon. It offers flagship-like specs and it is expected to be priced lower than the honor 10. For those who are interested, you can now “pre-book” the device and it will be available for pre-order from 7 August 2018.

According to honor Malaysia’s event page, you can pre-book the device from now until 6 August 2018. They are giving away an RM30 voucher but you can only redeem it for any live honor products except for the honor Play. Although it’s called a “pre-book” offer, it’s more of a registration of interest as you don’t get to secure a unit until you place an actual pre-order.

The honor Play Malaysian launch will take place on 7 August at 2:30PM. If you tune in to their live stream, you’ll stand a chance to win an RM50 voucher. Pre-order for the device will be available between 7-9 August and they are giving customers a chance to win a trip to Köln, Germany.

To recap on the specs, the honor Play features a 6.3″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a Kirin 970 processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD.

The device also features GPU Turbo which optimises the phone for Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile. On top of that, there’s also AI-enabled Smart Shock 4D which vibrates the device according to your gameplay.

The honor play features a 16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-camera setup at the rear while the front gets a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a 3,750mAh battery which charges via USB-C.

In China, the honor Play is priced at 1,999 CNY (about RM1,192) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. We are guessing that it could be priced around RM1,200-RM1,400 in Malaysia.
