Smartphone screens are getting bigger each day thanks to thinning bezels. If you need a smartphone that offers a large screen experience and a battery that can last beyond a day, the Xiaomi Mi Max series is an affordable tablet alternative that you could keep in your pocket at a squeeze. Now the Chinese smartphone maker is working on a new one and it will be their biggest one yet.
Before the Mi Max 3 is announced, a couple of short hands-on videos have appeared online. It is more or less confirmed that it will get a larger 6.9″ display (mostly likely FullHD+) that now comes in a taller 18:9 display aspect ratio.
Another huge upgrade is the battery, where it now gets a 5,500mAh capacity. As a comparison, the current Mi Max 2 has a 6.44″ Full HD screen and a 5,300mAh battery. Since this is a “Mi” device, you can expect it to retain a USB-C port with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge.
Another noticeable upgrade is the rear camera where it now comes with an “iPhone X-inspired” vertically mounted dual-camera bump. Like the Redmi Note 5, it gets a 12MP main camera and a secondary 5MP shooter for bokeh effects. There’s also a fingerprint sensor mounted at the back. In terms of internal hardware, it is said that the Mi Max 3 will feature a Snapdragon 636 processor with RAM of up to 6GB and storage of up to 128GB. It’s also speculated that Xiaomi could release a “Pro” version featuring a more powerful Snapdragon 710 processor that’s coupled with better 20MP + 8MP cameras for the rear.
Apparently, the Mi Max 3 launch is just around the corner and it should be announced within this month. Would you consider this as your next gaming device?
