You can now buy the HTC U12+ in Malaysia

If you’re looking for a different kind of flagship, HTC’s latest U12+ is now on sale in Malaysia. This is their latest quad-camera smartphone that comes with a large display that has no notch. It’s also the highest rated dual-camera smartphone on DxOMark Mobile with a score of 103.

Retailer DirectD has started selling the HTC U12+ at RM3,599. This is an imported set and it’s covered by their 1-year in-house warranty.

To recap on the specs, it gets a 6.0″ Quad HD+ 18:9 display and it runs on a top of the line Snapdragon 845 processor. The device listed comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD.

For the first time on an HTC device, it comes with dual-cameras on both front and back. The rear gets a new UltraPixel 4 camera with a 12MP f/1.75 unit and a secondary 16MP shooter with 2X optical zoom. It has both OIS and EIS for image stability. Meanwhile, the front gets two 8MP f/2.0 cameras that offer bokeh effects.

Taking its Edge Sense squeeze functionality up a notch, the HTC U12+ has no physical buttons. Instead, it gets pressure sensitive “buttons” for the power button and volume rocker. Powering the device is a 3,500mAh battery and it supports Quick Charge 3.0 via USB-C.

There’s no headphone jack but you do get a pair of USB-C USonic headphones out of the box. The device also comes with BoomSound speakers and IP68 dust and water resistance.

At the moment, DirectD is only offering the U12+ in Flame Red. If you’re interested, you can check out their product page.
