ASUS ZenFone Max Pro Malaysia software update

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is currently the most value for money stock Android smartphone you can buy in Malaysia. If you’re facing problems with the fingerprint sensor and camera, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has released a software update to address these issues.

The new update carries the version number 15.2016.1805.309 and it’s currently pushed in batches over the air. According to the changelog, this will optimise the fingerprint unlock speed and it will also improve camera performance. The latest firmware also enables VoLTE and VoWiFi with certain telcos in India, Indonesia, Thailand and Russia.

To recap, the ZenFone Max Pro features a 5.99″ FullHD+ display in an 18:9 aspect ratio and it runs on a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. It comes with either 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage options.

The rear gets a 13MP + 5MP dual-camera setup while the front comes with an 8MP selfie shooter. Apart from having great specs, it also gets a large 5,000mAh battery and it runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo. You can learn more in our announcement post. If you’re interested, the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant at RM599 is currently available from the ASUS Malaysia store on Lazada.

If you haven’t received any notification yet, you can check for the update manually under Settings > System Update. For those who have upgraded, how’s the experience so far? Let us know in the comments below.
