Samsung has just unveiled its new Galaxy A6 and A6+ series which are targeted at the selfie-centric crowd. Now it appears that the bigger Galaxy A6+ which comes with dual-cameras and a 24MP selfie camera will be heading to Malaysia very soon.
A new Samsung device with the model number SM-A605G/DS has just gotten the green light from SIRIM. This is the Galaxy A6+ and it comes with dual-SIM support.
The Galaxy A6+ is an affordable alternative to its current Galaxy A8+ which is currently going for RM2,399. It gets a 6.0″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display while the back uses metal instead of glass.
Over at the rear, the Galaxy A6+ is fitted with a 16MP f/1.7+ 5MP f/1.9 camera combo, while the front comes with a 24MP f/1.9 camera with LED flash. Powering the device is a 3,500mAh battery which charges via microUSB. There’s a headphone jack but it doesn’t come with dust/water resistance. You can learn more in our announcement post.
Another interesting discovery on SIRIM is a smartphone with the model number SM-J600G/DS. This appears to be the new Galaxy J6 (2018) which isn’t announced yet. Based on early leaks, this could be Samsung’s most affordable 18.5:9 Infinity Display smartphone. The Galaxy J6 is expected to feature a 5.6″ display that does 1,480×720 resolution like the smaller Galaxy A6. It’s also suggested that it could be running on an Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM.
Also spotted on SIRIM is the Galaxy J4 with the model number SM-J400F/DS. There isn’t much details on it yet but early benchmarks have indicated that it’s a budget quad-core powered phone with 2GB of RAM.
