After LG introduces its new G7 ThinQ, it’s now HTC’s turn to reveal its new flagship for 2018. Expected to be called the HTC U12+, the new smartphone will come with the latest hardware and it packs a total of 4 cameras.

According to HTC’s latest tweet, the launch is taking place on the 23rd May 2018. If you look at the high resolution picture, you’ll find a total of 4 camera modules and a hybrid dual-SIM tray that supports microSD expansion.

If you’re wondering how it looks like, a couple of leaked photos had surfaced online. The new model will retain the liquid surface design from the current HTC U11 series. As speculated before, it will feature a dual-camera setup for both front and back.

Based on a couple of photo samples, it appears that the device will come with dual 12MP cameras at the rear with f/1.8 and f/2.6 aperture lens. It’s possible that the secondary camera is a higher resolution 16MP shooter to capture more details in low light.

Similar to the HTC U11+, it will come with a 6″ Quad HD+ display in an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is expected to run on the latest Snapdragon 845 processor that’s mated with up to 6GB RAM and they could be providing up to 256GB of onboard storage.

Like the current HTC U11, there’s no headphone jack but it is said to come with IP68 dust and water resistance. Based on early rumours, the device will also come with a 3,420mAh battery and it will run on Android 8.0 with Edge Sense 2.0 out of the box.

The HTC U12+ will be revealed in 3 week’s time. Another flagship to look out for this month is the OnePlus 6 which will be announced on 16 May.
