We are about one week away to the launch of the P20 series and almost everything we need to know about the latest Huawei flagships has been revealed. Until now, the actual size of the display is still a question mark and German-based leakster Roland Quandt has finally dropped more details including RAM and storage capacities of both models.
Unlike the P20 Lite, both the P20 and P20 Pro will get a front facing fingerprint sensor that’s mounted at the bottom chin. According to Roland, the P20 will get a 5.8″ display, while the P20 Pro gets a slightly larger 6.1″ unit, which is quite similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S9/S9+ size differentiation. At 6.1″, the P20 Pro’s screen is actually bigger than the Mate 10 Pro which has a 6.0″ screen in an 18:9 display aspect ratio.
While the P20 is the standard flagship with just 4GB of RAM, the storage is said to come with a whopping 128GB capacity on board with a price tag of 679 Euro (about RM3,279). Meanwhile, the P20 Pro model gets 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and it is expected to go for 899 Euro (about RM4,342). According to Roland, these are the RAM and storage variants planned for Europe and it might be different for other markets.
When it comes to Malaysian price, Huawei would normally price their devices much lower compared to European markets. We reckon that the Huawei P20 could retain a similar RM2,499 price tag as the previous P10 while the P20 Pro could fetch a higher price tag of around RM3,500-RM3,700. In case you missed it, the Huawei P20 has already passed Malaysia’s SIRIM certification, which is an indication that local launch could take place very soon.
For the affordable P20 Lite, it was revealed earlier that it carries a 5.84″ display that pushes a 2280×1080 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it is quite similar to the Nova 2i with a Kirin 659 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
While the big P20 launch is happening on 27 of March, the P20 Lite has already gone on sale last week at selected markets. You can check out the full promo video below:
