You can get a “Full Screen” 18:9 smartphone in Malaysia for less than RM350

Full Display or 18:9 smartphones are the latest trend right now and it offers a bigger screen experience in a smaller form factor. This type of display aspect ratio first appeared on 2017 flagship smartphones and now it’s making its way to more affordable segments. If you’re looking for a full display smartphone for the least amount of money, meet the Wiko Tommy3.

Priced at only RM329, this is the most affordable Full Display smartphone you can buy right now in Malaysia. Being an entry-level device, it gets a 5.45″ 960×480 display and it’s powered by an unspecified Quad-Core 1.3GHz (likely MediaTek) processor with 1GB of RAM.

Onboard it has 16GB of storage and you can expand it further via microSD. For taking pictures, it gets an 8MP main camera, while the front gets a 5MP selfie-camera with face beauty and live filter features. Powering the device is a modest 2,500mAh battery and it still runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Wiko’s own custom interface which supports split screen.

Strangely, Wiko isn’t bringing the Android Oreo Go Edition of the Tommy3 for the Malaysian market. That would have provided a more optimised experience for devices with just 1GB of RAM and limited storage.

Despite the low price tag, the Tommy 3 also comes with 4G LTE support for Band 1 (2100MHz), 3 (1800MHz), 7 (2600MHz), 8 (900MHz) and Band 40 (2300MHz). It’s available starting today and it comes with a 120-day replacement warranty on top of its standard 1-year warranty. You can check out the full specs here.

If you have RM350 to spare, would you get this or the Redmi 5A?
