Mobile World Congress is kicking off this week and you can expect smartphone launches happening back to back. Xiaomi wants to make headlines as well and they will be introducing a new smartphone in the next few days. They have just posted a teaser for their upcoming device with a random 6-digit number. What could this be?
The device in question is the Mi MIX 2S, which is an update to its bezel-less Mi MIX 2. The current model has a 5.99″ Full HD+ display and it’s powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The standard model with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at RM2,199, while the higher spec 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version in Ceramic White is going for RM2,699.

For the upcoming Mi MIX 2S, it will be running on the latest Snapdragon 845 processor and the 6 digit above appears to be its Antutu score. With 273,741, it looks pretty high but it is hard to compare at the moment since Antutu version 7.0 is still new and they will only reveal their top benchmark database about a month later.
In terms of design, it is speculated the the Mi MIX 2S will “fix” its front-facing camera. On the Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2, the selfie camera is placed at the bottom corner since the display stretches edge-to-edge at the top. It’s alleged that the MIX 2S camera will be positioned at the top right corner as pictured above while keeping a slim speaker grill in the middle.
