vivo V7 and V5Plus gets a price cut in Malaysia

The recently launched vivo V7 is now more affordable with a price cut of RM100 in Malaysia. At RM1,199, it slightly cheaper than its 18:9 smartphone rivals such as the Huawei Nova 2i and OPPO F5.

The vivo V7 is seen as a budget alternative to the bigger V7+. Instead of a 5.99″ screen, the V7 gets a smaller 5.7″ display which also does HD 720p.

The hardware underneath is quite similar as it gets an Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 processor with 4GB of RAM but storage is slightly smaller at 32GB. For taking selfies, it has a 24MP f/2.0 front camera that comes with its own soft selfie light while the rear gets a 16MP f/2.0 main shooter. The V7 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and out of the box it runs on FunTouch OS 3.2 that’s based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

In conjunction with the 12.12 sales, vivo is bundling extra free gifts which include a WorldCup Backpack, tempered glass and case while stocks last.

If you prefer something more conventional, the vivo V5Plus‘s pricing is also reduced to RM1,199. Launched earlier this year at RM1,799, the V5Plus features a 5.5″ Full HD display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

There are two cameras upfront with a main 20MP unit and a secondary 8MP camera for depth of field effects. Over at the rear, it has a 16MP f/2.0 PDAF camera and powering the device is a 3,160mAh battery which supports vivo’s fast “Dual-Charging” feature.
