The OPPO F5 6GB version will be available for pre-order in Malaysia this week. Initially teased to come only in red colour, the higher-spec selfie-centric smartphone will be offered in another new colour option.
For those who prefer a more stealthier look, OPPO Malaysia will be bringing the OPPO F5 6GB in Black. This gives the device an all-black appearance on both front and back. You can secure the Red edition starting soon but it isn’t clear if this black unit will be available at the same time.
As an extra bonus, the first 1,000 pre-orders for the OPPO F5 Red will get a limited edition gift box that comes with a red case with Swarovski crystals. It will be available for pre-order starting this Wednesday, 6 December at 12.30PM.
The OPPO F5 6GB is the upgraded version of the OPPO F5 which comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It still gets the same 6.0″ FullHD+ (2160×1080) display in an 18:9 aspect ratio and under the hood, it runs on a Mediatek Helio P23 processor. Upfront, it gets a 20MP f/2.0 selfie camera, while the rear comes with a 16MP f/1.8 shooter. Powering the device is a 3,200mAh battery.
The standard OPPO F5 with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage is priced at RM1,298, so do expect to pay a few hundred more for the higher-spec 6GB version. Assuming the black edition doesn’t come with this crystal studded case, it could be slightly cheaper than the Red edition.
For those looking for an affordable alternative, the OPPO F5 Youth is now available in Malaysia at RM1,098. That comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with slightly downgraded cameras.
