Looks like Digi is officially shuttering their Capture service, effectively November 1st, cutting off new subscribers from their storage service.
For those not in the know, Capture is basically a form of Cloud storage available to all Digi customers that gives you 30GB of storage to save photos and videos without additional internet charges. It’s not unlike any other cloud storage like Dropbox or Google Drive but has a bigger capacity, with Digi giving a 100GB bonus storage at one point.
The best alternative right now is probably Google Photos. If you’ve got a non-Pixel device, you can get unlimited storage for high-quality photos (16MP) and video (up to Full HD) uploads. But if you’re using a Pixel, you be able to enjoy unlimited storage for full resolution photos/videos.
The service will be officially discontinued starting March 1st 2018, so those who already activated their storage will be able to use it until then. However, if you’re already using Capture, Digi recommends moving all your data before the service is shut down, stating that users should make the move before January 10th 2018.
