Turns out the iPhone X is the most breakable iPhone ever

Turns out, Apple‘s latest iPhone really isn’t all that tough.

With every iPhone that comes to market, people are just too eager to smash them or throw them from great heights to figure out if they can handle the damage.

As it turns out, the iPhone X isn’t even particularly tough, as tests by CNET resulted in loads of cracks on the phone’s glass, however, the damage was still only on a cosmetic level from the pair of drops.

However, SquareTrade gave it a bit more extreme drop tests (including dropping the phone from six feet and putting the phone in a tumbler) resulted in the phone losing functionality, becoming unresponsive and in some cases, completely inoperable.

But despite not doing too good on the physical beatings, the phone managed to survive for 30 minutes completely submerged. Most of the damage here is due to the iPhone’s glass construction, and Apple went with glass simply because aluminum (which was used on the iPhone 7) would be a barrier to the phone’s new wireless charging feature.

However, do bear in mind that six feet is a lot higher than most people will be holding their phones so the damage could be very largely exaggerated. Apple’s one-year warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage but if you can afford it, AppleCare+ will cover two accidental damage incidents at a reduced cost and that’s better than what you can get on the warranty.

So do you think this is Apple’s most breakable iPhone ever? let us know what you think.
