The OPPO R11s and R11s Plus have finally landed

The OPPO R11s has been the topic of a fair bit of leaks as of late, and now OPPO’s latest smartphone is finally official.

Though what’s special about the device is the phone’s “crescent arcs” which prevents the user’s hands from blocking sound output from the phone while they watch videos or are gaming. OPPO had to modify the microUSB port and headphone jack to make this possible, but we think it’s a welcome addition to the phone’s design.

Under the hood, the R11s sports a Snapdragon 660 CPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage, along with a high-performance mode that allows for gaming at 60fps. As for the cameras, you get a 20MP selfie cam with AI-based beautification, and the rear is home to a dual camera system with f/1.7 aperture 16MP and 20MP cameras who work in tandem for additional picture clarity.

For the screen, the R11s is home to a 6.01″ AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, at 2160×1080 pixels and Gorilla Glass 5.

With the new device comes ColorOS 3.2, for more efficient running and improved performance, alongside some new features. The update brings the Facial unlock, which uses artificial intelligence to recognise it’s user, letting you unlock your phone as fast as 0.08 seconds.

Also announced is the OPPO R11s Plus, which sports very similar looks and specs to the OPPO R11s, but with a few differences. The R11s Plus sports a larger 6.43″ full-HD+ AMOLED display at 2160×1080 pixels, and comes with a whopping 6GB RAM. It has a larger battery too, sporting a rather generous 4000mAh battery.

Both devices support hybrid SIM slots and have a fingerprint scanner out back.

The OPPO R11s will retail for CNY 2,999 (about RM1916) for the Black and Champagne coloured models while you have to pay a little extra for the Red variant, which retails for CNY 3,199 (about RM2044). The OPPO R11s hits the Chinese market come November 10th.

As for the OPPO R11s Plus, it will be available starting November 24th,  and will retail for CNY 3,699 (about RM2362) in Black and Gold colours.
