You can pre-order the Mi A1 officially on Malaysia Day

The Android One powered Mi A1 is finally hitting Malaysia. We’ve already seen the price and now it’s time to find out when and where you can get your hands one.

The Mi A1 smartphones will be available for pre-order starting this Saturday, 16 September and you can place your orders online via their Mi official store on Lazada Malaysia at 12AM. If you prefer to pre-order it on ground, it will be available at their Mi Premium Reseller store at Queensbay Mall Penang, Mobile To Go at SS2, PJ and at all DirectD outlets. This announcement was made on Mi Malaysia’s Facebook page.

To recap, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is going for RM1,099 and this is for the official Xiaomi Malaysia set with local warranty. For Malaysia, it will come with Black and Gold colour options. To recap, the Mi A1 has similar specs as the Redmi Note 4 but it carries a dual-camera system at the rear that offers 2X optical zoom. Another key differentiator is that it runs on stock Android, which is good news for those who don’t fancy Xiaomi’s custom MIUI.

The front 5.5” display pushes a Full HD resolution and it is running on a 14nm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM. Internally it comes with 64GB of storage which can be further expanded via microSD. Photography is taken cared by its dual 12MP main cameras while the front gets a 5MP selfie shooter.

The Mi A1 is juiced up by a modest 3,080mAh battery and it charges via USB Type-C. This is a dual-SIM device and it supports microSD card on its hybrid second slot. UPDATE: A couple of Xiaomi Mi A1 listings with official Mi Malaysia warranty have been spotted on Lazada. Here’s one that’s selling for RM1,098 with stocks expected to arrive by 21 September 2017.
