If you’ve been waiting for a new iPhone, this is it. The upcoming iPhone 8 together its updated version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be revealed on 12 September 2017. Apple has officially sent out invites for the event and it will also be streamed live on their website.
This time, the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater located in their new Apple Park campus in Cupertino. It will take place at 10AM PDT on 12 September, which is 1AM Malaysian time on Wednesday, 13 September.
The most anticipated product is definitely the iPhone 8. As smartphone makers pursue an all-screen display smartphone, the iPhone 8 might be the most radically redesigned iPhone that comes without its iconic home button. Of course, do expect a premium price tag for this model while Apple will definitely push its more mainstream iPhone 7s/7s Plus for the masses.
If it follows the same timeline as previous launches, pre-order for first wave countries should start within the week itself and it will be on sale the following week. For Malaysia, Apple has been getting faster when it comes to iPhone availability. The iPhone 7 was officially announced on 8th September 2016 and it went on sale nationwide across telcos and retailers on 14th October. With just a month wait, it is better to buy official units with local warranty.
Apart from the new iPhone models, Apple is also expected to reveal their new Apple Watch, Apple TV and final details of iOS 11. The new 3rd gen Apple Watch is expected to come with 4G LTE connectivity.
