Samsung will announce its latest wearables this Thursday

Following the launch of its new Galaxy Note8, Samsung will be having another product announcement ahead of IFA 2017. According to Samsung, this will offer a sneak peek at its latest innovations designed to cater to “your new normal”.

Samsung is expected to reveal two new wearables – an updated Gear Fit2 Pro and a new Gear Sport smartwatch. For the new Gear Sport, it is said to be running on the latest Tizen 3.0 platform and it will support both WiFi and WiFi-Direct for data transfer. From its FCC listing, it will definitely come with a heart rate sensor underneath. The Gear Sport will get a round watch face but it isn’t clear if it will retain a rotating bezel that’s a standard feature on its current Gear S2 and Gear S3 smart watches.

The event is taking place in Berlin on 30 August at 6pm (12am on 31 August Malaysian time) and it will be streamed live on Samsung’s website.
