Say cheese! It looks like we have a clear family photo of all Apple‘s upcoming iPhones and two of them appear to be in what looks like a soft gold colour that we’re not quite sure we like.
Of course, it could very well be a white iPhone with yellow lighting on it but who can really say for sure. Maybe it’s an evolution of the Gold iPhone. However, it is worth noting that the rumoured new colour for the iPhone 8 has not made an appearance in this photo. The colour we’re talking about is, of course, copper which is quite the polarising colour. I quite like it, but I have heard comments being made about how it looks like something that isn’t a metal used in steam punk fantasies.
You know what colour I’m referring to.
That said, colour is very much a subjective matter because if it wasn’t, what on earth is the explanation for all the champagne gold cars I see on the road? In any case, this latest photo of the trio pretty much confirms a bunch of rumours.
The first is that there will be three new iPhones: The iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and the iPhone 8. Secondly, it appears the 7s and 7s Plus will bear a striking resemblance to the phone it succeeds, which also bears a striking resemblance to the phone it succeeds and the one before that. Even the iPhone 8 looks rather similar, though, there are some subtle differences where the camera module is now vertical instead of horizontal.
Is Apple getting a little lazy with their designs?
Well, if they were, at least they’re changing things up with the choice of materials because all three iPhones look like they’re going to have glass backs. This likely means that Apple could introduce a brand new feature to the iPhone that’s never been seen on an iPhone before: Wireless charging.
Besides that, you will also notice the distinct lack of a headphone jack (RIP, again) and what looks like Lightning ports instead of USB Type-C. And that’s about it, actually.
It doesn’t give us insight into what the front of the iPhone 8 will look like (though, that’s already been revealed), nor does it show us how the iPhone 8 will implement Touch ID.
Still, the big reveal is just around the corner so you really won’t have to wait much longer to find out. What are you most excited about for the new iPhones? Let me know in the comments below.
