Alongside a pair of gaming laptops, Acer also launched a whole slew of non-gaming devices that targets pretty much everyone else who isn’t a gamer. If you need a new PC, you might want to check this out.
The headlining act is Acer’s convertible 2-in-1, the Switch 5. It’s the company’s refreshed 2-in-1 that features a new auto-retracting kickstand that’s supposed to make it easier for you to adjust the device’s angle with one hand.
It also has a FHD+ 12-inch display (2160×1440 pixels) and comes in two different variants. The first is priced at RM3,999 and sports an Intel Core i5-7200U processor and 256GB of SSD storage. Top up RM1,000 more and you can get the RM4,999 variant which bumps the processor up to an Intel Core i7-7500U and doubles the SSD storage to 512GB.
Both versions will sport 8GB of RAM, an Intel HD graphics 620 and Acer’s Liquid Loop fanless cooling technology. I/O includes a microSD card slot, a headphone jack, USB 3.0 port and USB Type C port. For more information, check out our announcement post.
Not a fan of the 2-in-1 form factor? Then, Acer’s updated Swift 3 should be more your speed. Building on last year’s mid range laptop — that we liked — Acer’s giving it a new body and a larger 15.6″ FHD option for those who prefer a larger screen. You can also get it with up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD.
You can also get it in a new Salmon Pink or Stellar Blue colour scheme. The new Swift 3 is priced around RM3,399 to RM3,899.
If small is your thing, the Acer Aspire One 10 may be the device for you. It’s a tiny 10.1″ detachable that’s powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Its display pushes 1280×800 pixels (HD resolution) and supports touch. What is impressive, though, is its battery life which is rated at 10 hours.
The Acer One 10 is priced at RM1,099.
Feeling grounded? Acer’s AIO’s might be more your speed. Today, the company launched two brand new units called the Aspire Z24 and the Aspire U 27.
The Aspire Z24 will come with a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM plus 16GB of Optane memory, and a 1TB 2.5-inch hard disk. Besides that, it also sports a 23.8″ LCD Full HD display and built-in stereo speakers. The Aspire Z24 will be priced at RM4,699.
Moving up the ranks is the Aspire U 27. This device features a 27-inch Full HD 1920×1080 pixel display, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hard disk. It also features 2.1 channel speakers with Dolby sound enhancement. The Aspire U27 is priced at RM6.499.
