LG V20: Possibly the last flagship with a removable battery is now available in Malaysia

Before LG introduces its new V30 flagship smartphone, the previous LG V20 is finally available in Malaysia with official warranty. Despite being last year’s flagship, the LG V20 is still quite a compelling device under RM2,000 as it gets a dual-camera system with a wide-angle option along with a secondary display on top.

Announced a month after the Galaxy Note7, the LG V20 was the first smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. With waterproofing becoming a standard these days, it is likely that this could be the last LG flagship smartphone to come with a removable battery.

To recap on the specs, the LG V20 comes with a 5.7″ Quad HD IPS display and it has a secondary 2.1″ ticker screen for notification and shortcuts that pushes 1040×160 pixels resolution. It runs on a Snapdragon 820 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of onboard storage. It also accepts microSD card expansion up to 2TB.

Over at the back, the LG V20 has two cameras, one 16MP f/1.8 for normal shots and a secondary 8MP f/2.4 for wide-angle photos. It also comes with a 5MP f/1.9 front-shooter for selfies. For steadier shots, there is EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) as well as DIS (Digital Image Stabilisation) assistance.

The LG V20 is also a multimedia powerhouse with 32-bit ESS Hi-Fi Quad DAC and it even comes with manual controls with LCF (Low Cut Filter) for better audio recording. Also bundled is a pair of B&O earphones.

The phablet is juiced up by a 3,200mAh removable battery and it charges via USB Type-C. The LG V20 is officially priced at RM1,999 in Malaysia and you can get it slightly cheaper from some retailers online.

If you have RM2,000 to spare, would you get this or the honor 8 Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
