DJI’s smallest drone will be landing in Malaysia early July

Drones are taking over the world. As these flying gadgets get more and more accessible, more people are picking one up to have a go at aerial photography themselves.

If you aren’t one of those people but have always wanted to give drones a try, there’s good news! DJI’s smallest (and most beginner-friendly) drone, the DJI Spark, is officially coming to Malaysia very soon.

Yup! We just received an invite from DJI’s official Malaysian distributor ECS and it states that the Spark will be launching on the 5th of July 2017! Of course, you can already buy the DJI Spark in Malaysia but this is the first time the official distributor will be bringing it in.

The DJI Spark is the company’s latest and smallest drone ever. If you’ve been paying attention to the tech scene you would probably have heard of the DJI Mavic Pro which is a tiny 4K camera drone that can fold into the size of a oversized 6-inch subway sandwich.

Well, the DJI Spark is far smaller than that — think smartphone sized. Although, because it’s so small, it will only shoot up to 1080p Full HD videos from its 2-axis stabilised camera. But the good news is that the drone is designed to be controlled with your smartphone or hand gestures.

Yes, you can wave your arms in the air and have the drone do various commands. It also has a bunch of smart features built-in to help you take professional-looking aerial video footage at the touch of a button.

This makes the Spark the most beginner-friendly drone the company makes. The fact that it’s tiny also makes it a really tempting choice for travel videographers who can’t afford to lug a big drone around.
