OPPO’s new dual-camera smartphone is coming soon to Malaysia

OPPO has just unveiled its new photography-centric smartphone with its new R11. Barely a few weeks from its announcement in China, it appears that the R11 is heading for Malaysia soon as it just passed our local SIRIM certification with the model number CPH1707.

To recap, the OPPO R11 is their latest premium mid-range smartphone and it’s their first with a dual-camera lens system. The standard R11 comes with a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display while its bigger R11 Plus comes with a 6.0″ Full HD screen. Like its former R series, it gets a slim unibody metal design but it now features a different antenna band which looks like a mix between OPPO R9s and iPhone 7.

Powering both R11 is the latest Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM. Internally it gets 64GB of storage which is expandable via microSD up to 128GB.

The main feature is its new rear camera which consists of a 16MP f/1.7 main shooter and a secondary 20MP f/2.6 camera. The secondary camera provides 2X Zoom and image processing is handled by Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP. For selfies, it gets a high-resolution 20MP f/2.0 front camera.

In terms of battery, the R11 gets a 3,000mAh capacity while the R11 Plus is bigger at 4,000mAh. Both still uses microUSB port for charging and it supports VOOC Flash Charging. Like its current models, OPPO says you can get 2 hours of talk time from just 5 minutes of charging. In China, the R11 is priced at 2,999CNY (about RM1,880) for Gold, Rose Gold and Black, while the Red colour version is going for 3,199CNY (about RM2,006).

If it comes to Malaysia, we reckon the price should be close to its current OPPO R9s which is now going for RM1,798. Thanks @KevinNgTK for the tip!
