Nubia finally has a flagship smartphone in Malaysia

ZTE’s sub-brand, nubia, is increasingly making inroads into the Malaysian market. After introducing its selfie-centric M2 series, nubia is finally bringing its flagship model locally with the Nubia Z11. It has top of the line specs with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, and you can get it for under RM2,000.

The nubia Z11 isn’t their latest flagship model but it is still an impressive device with a 5.5″ Full HD display with an aRC 2.0 technology that gives it a “bezel-less” appearance. You do get a forehead and chin, while the display stretches from edge to edge at the sides which is similar to Sony’s Xperia XA series. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 while the metal frame is made from 6000 series aluminium.

Under the hood, it runs on last year’s 14nm 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor and it is mated to 6GB of RAM and has 64GB of internal storage. You can expand storage further via microSD using its hybrid dual-SIM tray slot. For imaging, it gets a 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX298 main camera while the front gets an 8MP f/2.4 shooter.

The nubia Z11 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and it charges via USB Type-C. Out of the box, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with nubia UI 4.0 custom skin on top. It is available now at RM1,899 with official 1 year warranty by nubia Malaysia. You can learn more about the nubia Z11 here.

For its mid-range models, it appears that nubia has revised the pricing for the M2 and M2 lite. The M2 which comes with a dual-camera set up (13MP RGB + 13MP Monochrome) is now priced at RM1,699 instead of RM1,899. Meanwhile, the M2 Lite is now RM1,099 instead of RM1,199.
