U Mobile introduces new postpaid with unlimited calls and data for RM78/month

U Mobile, the disruptive telco that’s known for incredible value for money has up the ante with a brand new unlimited plan. For those who want true unlimited data without costing a bomb, U Mobile wants to fulfil your needs with its new Unlimited HERO Postpaid P78.

The plan gives you unlimited calls to all networks and unlimited high-speed data for only RM78/month. While other telcos like webe and Digi had offered similar plans for around RM80/month, U Mobile’s offering is a bit more generous by offering more free hotspot quota and data roaming usage.

The P78 postpaid plan comes with 10GB data for hotspot use which is capped at 5Mbps. If you’re going on holiday or a business trip, Roam-Onz gives you free 5GB of data each month to stay connected in 12 countries. This includes Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Roam-Onz is U Mobile’s new data roaming service which replaces their previous Data BackPack. Instead of using your home data without charge, Roam-Onz is additional data dedicated just for overseas use which is similar to Digi’s current “Roam like home“, but without the extra free calls.

Roam-Onz will also be available for postpaid customers on P70, P98, i90, i130, UD90, UD130, U Premium and U Platinum customers and it is valid from now until 31 December 2017. U Mobile customers are required to select the partner telcos manually. The Unlimited P78 plan is offered as a limited time promo and it will be available starting today.

UPDATE: The high-speed data on P78 is capped at 5Mbps and video streaming is also capped for 480p viewing similar to its current Video-ONZ offering. U Mobile has also blocked MiFi usage, so if you plan to share, you’ll have to use it on a smartphone with hotspot enabled.

UPDATE 2: Quota allocation from Roam-Onz has been revealed. For customers on the P70, P78, i90, Ultimate Device 90, and U Premium, you will be getting 5GB/month. If you’re on P98, i130, Ultimate Device 130, and U Platinum, you will receive 8GB/month.
