Get freebies and discounts at Samsung Galaxy S8 Roadshows

The Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ will be available in Malaysia beginning next Friday, 5th May 2017. If you have missed the earlier Galaxy S8 pre-order promotion, Samsung Malaysia is offering additional freebies and discount promos during their 3-day roadshows.

The Galaxy S8 is priced at RM3,299 while the Galaxy S8+ is going for RM3,699. If you pick one up at their roadshows, Samsung is giving away a Limited Edition Starter Kit (Clear Cover, Screen Protector, Wireless Charging Stand, USB Type-C cable) and a 5,100mAh battery pack for free.

On top of that, you’ll get to enjoy 50% off on the new Gear VR headset with controller and the new Gear 360 camera that does 4K video recording. The new Gear VR is officially priced at RM499 while the new 2nd gen Gear 360 is priced at RM999. So, RM500 for the new Gear 360 is a pretty good deal.

Meanwhile, Samsung DeX which is a docking station that turns your Galaxy S8 into a PC-like experience will be coming to Malaysia in June 2017. This device lets you connect your Galaxy S8 to a bigger screen and you can plug-in a keyboard and mouse for a more productive desktop environment. The dock is priced at RM459 and it will be on display during the roadshow.

UPDATE: Take note that Samsung has a limited number of freebies for each roadshow.

As listed on their roadshow page, there are a total of 700 Starter packs + 5,100mAh battery packs to be given out throughout the roadshow on a first come first serve basis. Subsequently, there will be giving out 5,100mAh battery packs for the next 1,300 customers.

For the 50% off purchase with purchase promo, there is a total of 600 units of Gear VR with controller and 600 units of the new Gear 360 available which is split among the 3 venues. This 50% redemption offer is only valid for those who purchased a Galaxy S8/S8+ on the same day at the event venue.

On top of that, Samsung is also offering a Trade-Up program where you can enjoy a special rebate for your new Galaxy S8/S8+. This will be available at 76 Samsung Experience Stores, roadshow locations and at selected dealers. Below is their list of the trade-in values by Ingram Micro:

The roadshows are happening from 5-7 May 2017 between 10AM to 10PM at Sunway Pyramid, Queensbay Mall Penang and Sutera Mall in Johor Bahru. For those outside of the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru, Samsung is giving away a free battery pack for in-store purchases while stocks last.
