Acer introduces a connected 360 camera that you can use as a phone

Acer has just announced the Holo 360, their first connected 360 camera that’s powered by Android. Unlike other 360 cameras in the market, the Holo 360 can work standalone and it even allows you to share your 360 content without requiring a PC or a smartphone.

As a connected device, it comes with built-in WiFi and you can use it on the go via 4G LTE. If you have inserted a SIM card, the Holo 360 can also be used as a phone.

The Holo 360 is designed like a digital camera with a touchscreen on one side and it comes with two fisheye lenses. Stitching of images or video is done instantly using its built-in VR and 360 apps.

Once you’re done, you can share your photos and videos directly to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram. Having a single device solution makes this much easier to share as it eliminates the need of pairing and you save time transferring files between the camera and a smartphone.

There’s no mention of its price and availability yet but we do expect this to be priced higher than current 360 cameras like the Gear 360. We’ll update more on the specs once we have them.
