The HTC One X10 has just been announced in Russia and it’s the Taiwanese smartphone maker’s new mid-range device that comes with a 5.5″ display. You probably would expect this to replace the current HTC One X9 but looking at the spec sheet, HTC might have taken a step back with the X10.
Upfront, it gets a 5.5″ Full HD Super LCD display encased in an all metal design with 3D diamond chamfering. Under the hood, it runs on an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor mated to 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage. As a comparison, the former HTC One X9 was running on “flagship-level” Helio X10 processor and it’s surprising that HTC didn’t go for at least a newer Helio P15 or P20 processor instead.
In terms of optics, the HTC One X10 gets a 16MP f/2.0 main camera while the front gets an 8MP f/2.2 shooter that supports super-wide angle selfies. There’s also a fingerprint sensor at the rear which claims to work better over time with its learning algorithm.
Powering the device is a larger 4,000mAh battery, which is 1,000mAh more in capacity than last year’s HTC One X9. With its larger battery, the X10 claims to push almost 2 days of battery life on a single charge. So far there’s no mention of its availability outside of Russia and we reckon it would be priced close to its predecessor if it gets here.
