This is it, the Galaxy S8

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S8 at the end of this month. After seeing several leaks here and here, it’s time to feast on eyes on the clearest look yet of the Galaxy S8 thanks to serial leakster @evleaks.

The press render of the front has been revealed in its full glory and it matches the earlier renders and silhouette from its teaser image. As speculated before, Samsung is going for a fresh new look. The iconic home button is gone and they have moved the fingerprint sensor towards the back.

Similar to the new LG G6, it gets a taller display with thinner forehead and chin. It also appears to have weird curves around the corner of the screen which is further exaggerated by its dual-curved display.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are expected to come with a 5.8″ and 6.2″ Quad HD AMOLED display respectively. While the screens are huge, the devices should feel narrower to hold thanks to its 18:9 display aspect ratio. Both will get either a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos 8895 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM and comes with at least 64GB of storage.

In the camera department, it will retain a 12MP dual-pixel camera but the front facing shooter is now upgraded to an 8MP unit. On top of that, the Iris scanner which made its debut on the Galaxy Note7 will also be included on the new Galaxy S8 as well.

UPDATE: BGR has obtained more photos of the Galaxy S8 in multiple angles.

From the photos, we can see how thin the forehead and chin has been reduced to accomodate a larger screen. The on-screen buttons are prominently displayed and you’ll notice that the actual display has rounded corners.

The power and volume rockers are now placed together on the left side of the phone and there’s a new button on the right which is said to be dedicated for Samsung’s new virtual assistant feature. Build wise, it’s the same as the current crop of Galaxy flagships and it retains the same symmetrical design for both front and back. As seen above, the Galaxy S8 will still retain a headphone jack which is good news for audio enthusiasts.

For a better look, you can check out the short videos below that shows off both devices in action.

The Galaxy S8 will be announced in New York at 11:00AM (11:00PM Malaysian time) on 29 March 2017. You can catch the announcement live via video stream on the Samsung Galaxy website.
