Xiaomi is gearing up for a smartphone launch next week as it teases the new Redmi Note 4X on Weibo. Here’s what we know so far.
Based on a Weibo post, the company has finally set an official date for the launch of Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 4X handset. The text hints at not only the launch of the new handset but also an idol. Here’s the post:
As the name would suggest, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X shares a lot of similarities with the Redmi Note 4. It looks pretty much the same, with a similar 5.5-inch Full HD display, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a metal body.
However, there have been rumours that the new device will be powered by either a Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor or a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chip. For context, the China-spec Redmi Note 4 sports the X20 processor while international markets get a Snapdragon 625 chip.
When it comes to memory, the handset is said to have a base 4GB of RAM plus either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. It’s also allegedly going to feature a 13MP primary camera with a 5MP selfie shooter. Keeping everything juiced is a 4,100 mAh battery.
In any case, everything but the official launch date is still unconfirmed so do take the specs with a grain of salt. All we know for sure is that everything will be revealed on the 14th of February.
