Apple‘s watchOS 3 proved to be a pretty significant upgrade for Apple Watch users. Not only did it make the most popular smartwatch in the world faster, it also packed familiarity plus a whole bunch of new features into Cupertino’s wearable.
Now, Apple’s adding a few more useful features with watchOS 3.2.
First up, there’s Theater Mode. As its name would suggest, this feature is designed to make that device on your wrist a little less annoying in a dark theatre. It does this by disabling the raise to wake feature on your Apple Watch and mutes the sound.
Users will still be alerted to notifications via haptics and they can wake the screen by pressing the Digital Crown or tapping the screen. Spinning the Digital Crown will slowly brighten the screen from its darkest setting. This mode exists primarily to avoid accidental wakes which lead to the unintentional blinding of you and the people around you (this is an exaggeration, but I think you know what I mean). At least once this feature is on, you’ll know that any lit Apple Watch screen will be completely intentional.
Besides that, the new beta also includes something called SiriKit. This will let apps that provide services with the tools they need to make their services available through Siri on watchOS. SiriKit supports services in messaging, payments, ride booking, workouts, calling and searching photos.
