This is Nokia’s new Android smartphone

Once a great giant, Nokia is making a comeback in 2017 through HMD Global. After introducing a feature phone last month, the Finnish brand has finally introduced a new smartphone that runs on Android with the Nokia 6.

Introduced exclusively for China, the Nokia 6 is HMD’s first step in delivering a true Nokia smartphone experience. Their decision to launch it in China is due to the sheer size of the market that has over 552 million smartphone users in 2016. The new device is focused on superior craftsmanship as the exterior is made from a solid block of series 6000 Aluminium and then receives two anodising processes for a premium unibody finish.

In front, it gets a 5.5″ Full HD display underneath a 2.5D Gorilla Glass and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with Adreno 505 GPU along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. For a better audio experience, it also packs dual amplifiers enhanced with Dolby Atmos.

The Nokia 6 also features a 16MP main camera with PDAF while selfies are taken cared by an 8MP front shooter. Connectivity wise, it uses Qualcomm’s X6 LTE modem that supports 4G LTE with download speeds up to 150Mbps and upload speeds up to 75Mbps. Out of the box, it will be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Nokia 6 will be sold in China through JD.com at 1,699CNY, which is about RM1,097. Ultimately, HMD Global wants to deliver the best experience with beautiful premium design touch at every price point, which is something most Chinese brands like Xiaomi and honor are trying to achieve.
