Neffos X1 is launching in Malaysia on 12 January 2017

TP-Link is finally introducing its new Neffos X1 smartphone in our local market. Announced during IFA 2016, the Neffos X1 series marks TP-Link’s first attempt on an all-metal smartphone.

There are 2 models – the Neffos X1 and the larger Neffos X1 Max. Both are running on a MediaTek Helio P10 processor with different RAM and storage configurations. The smaller X1 with its 5″ HD 720p display is available with either 2GB RAM + 16GB storage or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. Meanwhile, the larger X1 Max gets a larger 5.5″ Full HD display with either 3GB RAM + 32GB storage or 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

Both models get a 13MP main camera with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash while the front sports a 5MP selfie camera. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dedicated notification alert slider on the left. In terms of battery, the X1 gets a 2,250mAh capacity unit while the X1 Max has a large 3,000mAh unit. It also supports fast charging, delivering 50% charge in just 30 minutes on the X1 Max. Both are dual-SIM ready with 4G LTE support.

With more affordable metal-based smartphones currently available in the market, TP-Link would definitely need to price this competitively to stand out from the crowd. We’ll be there at the launch on 12 January, so stay tuned for more details. In case you missed it, here’s our first impressions of the Neffos X1 during its global announcement in Berlin.
