Here’s the new Nokia phone that you’re not looking for

Nokia will be making a comeback next year with HMD Global taking the helm. Before the new year kicks in, the new company has just announced its new phones which isn’t much to shout about.

Meet the Nokia 150 and 150 Dual SIM. These are Nokia’s affordable feature phones that join their current best sellers like the Nokia 105, Nokia 216 and Nokia 230.

At the front, you get your usual keypad buttons and a tiny 2.4″ QVGA display (320×240). With a removable 1,020mAh battery, it can last up to 25 days standby on dual-SIM or up to 31 days with the single SIM model. Over at the back, it has a basic VGA camera with LED flash while charging is done via a microUSB port.

For entertainment, the Nokia 150 has a built-in FM Radio and an MP3 Player. If that’s not enough, Nokia is bundling Snake Xenzia and a demo of Nitro racing from Gameloft. There’s also Bluetooth 3.0 and an expandable microSD slot that supports up to 32GB. Both models are GSM only (900/1800MHz) and they run on the Nokia Series 30+ platform.

Being a basic device, the Nokia 150 is priced at US$26 which is about RM116 with our current exchange rates. It will be available worldwide starting in Asia Pacific, IMEA (India, Middle East and Africa) and Europe in Q1 2017. Of course, HMD Global will be announcing new Android smartphones next year which could be revealed as early as February.
