As the Samsung Galaxy Note7 problems are slowly coming to an end, Apple’s new iPhone 7 could be facing a similar problem of its own. An iPhone 7 belonging to a surf instructor in Australia had apparently burst into flames and caused significant damage to his car.
In an interview with 7 News, Mat Jones had gotten his iPhone 7 a week ago and he hasn’t dropped it or used a 3rd party charger. Before heading out to the beach, he wrapped his iPhone 7 in his pants and kept it inside his car. Later on, he realised that his car was filled with smoke with all windows being blacked out.
When he opened his car door, he said it felt like a heatwave and the fire had already charred its interior. Fortunately, no one was injured but now he is left without a phone and a car.
Apple has yet to issue any statement but it is aware of the problem and they are still investigating. Check out the video below or hit the source link to read the full story.
