Keep track of your children remotely with MaxisONE Kid

Maxis has officially launched its MaxisONE Kid, a postpaid + QQ Watch bundle for kids. Since children are too young to carry a phone, having a smartwatch is an alternative solution to stay in touch remotely.

Priced at RM58/month with a 12-month contract, Maxis is offering a QQ Watch (RRP: RM569) and a MaxisONE Kid SIM which gives the watch unlimited calls, voice messaging and 500MB of data. The watch can be preset for 10 contact numbers and kids can use it to take pictures with its built-in VGA camera. It is also water resistant at IP65.

Apart from the basic apps and communication features, the QQ Watch allows parents to monitor their children’s whereabouts from an app. You can assign up to 4 contacts with access to track a child’s location and you can monitor several children on the same interface. Another interesting feature is the ability to assign safe and danger zones for the QQ Watch. So if a child reaches school or home, parents can be notified immediately on their smartphones.

The MaxisONE Kid isn’t entirely new as they have released it 2 months ago. Back then, it was offered from RM38/month but you’ll need to subscribe to a MaxisONE Plan (RM98/month) plus an add-on Maxis Share Line. The new RM58/month bundle just requires a single MaxisONE Plan and you can get it at Maxis Centres nationwide. For more info, head over to the MaxisONE Kid page.
